Digital Sales Planner

The Boston Globe seeking an entrepreneurial and creative Digital Sales Planner to join our revenue teamThe Digital Sales Planner is responsible for leading pre-sales from RFP’s to custom proposals, to strategic partnership alignments to win business. The Digital Sales Planner plays a critical role in revenue generation for BGM advertising solutions and provides pre-sales support for the Enterprise & Growth sales teams. In this role, you will be our internal expert on the pre-sales process, communicating with the various teams & stakeholders involved in crafting solutions for our advertising partners.

 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee & orchestrate the complete end-to-end process of fulfilling, strategic request for proposals (RFPs) from our advertising partners, including the following functions:
    • Understanding client requests  & corresponding deliverables needed in order to fulfill incoming RFPs (i.e. budget, timing, goals/objectives, media type requested, proposal format requested etc.)
    • As needed, coordinating internal kick off calls with the appropriate subject matter experts from the various BGM service lines (i.e. Studio/B, Globe Events, Newsroom Initiatives erc.), to assign responsibilities accordingly
    • Ensure all BGM stakeholders involved are contributing their ideas and content in a timely manner
    • Develop media plans & pricing packages that align with client needs, while meeting internal requirements for profitability
    • Creation of visually appealing pitch presentations that tell cohesive, strategic stories and seamlessly integrates BGM ad solutions as an important part of our clients business needs
  • Partner with BGM service line leads to help develop sales materials for their key initiatives and products, including but not limited to:
    • Newsroom Initiatives
    • Studio/B Branded Content
    • Globe Events
  • Act as an internal champion for the BGM sales planning process by enforcing the predetermined rules of engagement that have been established for the end-to-end planning process
  • Be a vocal & visible advocate for strategic BGM product pitch decks that get rolled out to our sales team


 

Qualifications of the Ideal Candidate:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with work or internship experience in digital advertising or a related field
  • 3+ years in media and advertising with a strong understanding of integrated campaigns 
  • A deep interest in evolving media space and eagerness to develop innovative solutions
  • Strong organizational, communication and office skills with a track record on being effective and productive
  • Exceptional work ethic and the ability to proactively manage multiple projects and people in a team environment
  • Software skills: Proficient use of Microsoft Excel, Gmail, Google docs. Familiarity with Salesforce a plus.
