Job Description:

Become the first host of a weekday, Boston Globe-branded show premiering on a NESN direct-to-consumer product with subsequent airings on a NESN linear network. Interview Globe journalists and newsmakers about the characters, events, and issues of the stories that define New England. 


  • Conduct interviews on varied topics including health, environment, politics, business, education, destinations, entertainment, and sports
  • Research and develop relevant questions for interviews in tandem with show executives
  • Write show copy, providing narrative thread and context between stories
  • Promote show via interviews and participation on linear, digital, social and other media channels
  • Read the Boston Globe each day and ideate with executive team on potential show segments
  • Suggest graphics and b-roll to enhance the quality of segments
  • Partake in same-day show meetings and directional meetings and be willing to pitch and execute on your own ideas 
  • Partner with producers and editors to finalize segments and final show product 
  • Host thematic specials inclusive of ideation, conducting interviews, and writing connective script 
  • Comply with the highest ethical and journalistic standards of the Boston Globe
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the spectrum of digital, print and broadcast 
  • Watch shows back with executive team as feedback/ideation sessions
  • Availability to work in-studio and in the field.


  • Host or reporter of a Top-50 DMA newscast preferred
  • 5+ years as a news host/reporter
  • Deep familiarity with journalism, New England and the Boston Globe  
  • Intense curiosity, both for news and current events, and for exploration of complex topics. This candidate would also be a voracious reader and consumer of news 
  • Demo reel must include compelling interviews on different subjects
  • Knowledge of ENPS is advisable
  • Excellent written, verbal communication organizational skills are required
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment 
  • A willingness to adapt and be audience focused, with a curious mindset and a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment
