Social Media Manager

  • Own day-to-day scheduling and publishing, approvals, social media content calendar(s)
  • Manage social media accounts across TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube
  • Come up with creative ideas and fun, brand-appropriate ways to capitalize on trends 
  • Elevate the work of newsroom initiatives organically across platforms 
  • Experience with paid social media marketing or strong desire to learn 
  • Strong community management skills such as admining Facebook groups
  • Research and experiment with emerging platforms 
  • Maintain social growth reporting dashboard 

 

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of social media, community management, and/or equivalent work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, media, communications, or marketing 

 

Required Skills:

  • A proven track record of building communities online
  • Working knowledge of analytics and scheduling tools like SocialFlow, Creator Studio, TweetDeck, Chartbeat, CrowdTangle, and Adobe Omniture
  • Experience working with design tools like Canva, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator 
  • Possess strong news judgement 
  • Strong written and communication skills
  • Ability to simultaneously juggle multiple projects of varying deadlines 
  • Proven ability to work well with others, collaborating across departments, teams, and business units
  • Deep understanding of and experience working in TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, YouTube for a major brand
