  • Devise concepts for events featuring our journalists and work closely with the Globe events team to execute them
  • Collaborate with the newsroom to develop journalism franchises with sponsorship potential and opportunities
  • Coordinate with sales planning to position newsroom initiatives for the market, including sales materials and promotion, and work with revenue operations to design pricing and client-ready media plans
  • Advise sales team on newsroom initiatives, suggesting relevant advertising opportunities based on client goals
  • Leverage data insights to recommend new projects to the sales team and newsroom
  • Manage cross-functional projects through completion, forging partnerships and systems throughout the process

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in journalism, media, communications, marketing or a related field
  • At least 3-5 years work or internship experience in publishing, news, events, advertising or marketing

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Reporting, editor or other professional newsroom experience
  • A deep interest in news media as a business
  • Entrepreneurial approach to projects

  • Highly organized and able to juggle multiple projects and manage their stakeholders
  • Strong public speaking skills, including developing presentations and fielding questions from colleagues in a group setting
  • A careful eye for detail, especially in written communications
  • Basic knowledge of spreadsheets (Google Sheets or Excel) and slide design
  • Passion for local news, including the importance of credibility and independence as part of our mission and business model
  • A willingness to adapt and be audience focused, with a curious mindset and a commitment to creating an inclusive work environment
